What This Actually Is

Working the connection between mind and body — both directions at once.

Trauma and disturbing events — along with phobias — quietly diminish the quality of your daily life, often without you ever tracing it back to the source. In this process, we unravel what’s actually holding those events in place, so they stop running your life from the background. This work is genuinely liberating. It releases tension you didn’t know you were carrying, in both body and mind.

The approach is top-down and bottom-up at the same time — working with what your mind understands and what your nervous system still holds, together, not one before the other.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Well-documented for complex PTSD, panic attacks, and anxiety — it dissolves the charge held in emotionally loaded memories.

Inner Parts Work

Meeting the part of you still carrying the old pattern, instead of fighting it or talking over it.

Releasing long-held emotion and trauma patterns is intense work. It needs real preparation and real integration — not just the session itself. Depending on your history, your health, and what you’re actually facing, this process gets built around you, not the other way around.

How this actually works.

What’s the difference between this and talk therapy?

Talk therapy works mostly through the mind. This works with the body as a full partner in the process — the physical sensations and responses tied to your emotions and experiences, not just the story about them. Mind and body, treated as one integrated system.

How long are sessions, and how long does the process take?

Sessions run about an hour. The minimum for the full process is 3 months, weekly — but if you’re carrying a lot, it can take longer than that. This isn’t something to rush for the sake of a timeline.

Can this be done online, or only in Marbella?

Both, equally effectively. Online and in-person sessions in Marbella work the same way — whichever fits your life.

What kinds of things does this actually help with?

Trauma, chronic stress and anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and body image concerns are the ones I see most. If you’re not sure whether what you’re dealing with fits, that’s exactly what the first call is for.

Is there anything I can read to understand this better first?

The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk and In an Unspoken Voice by Peter Levine are the two I recommend most for understanding the somatic side. For inner parts work specifically, No Bad Parts and You Are the One You’ve Been Waiting For, both by Richard Schwartz.
